If you’re wondering what in the world has a surfboard have to do with Peugeot and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the only logical answer we have to give you is that the French carmaker likely wants to stand out from the other brands and resonate with a younger crowd.

Dubbed the “Peugeot GTi Surfboard Concept”, the one off creation is the work of the Peugeot Design Lab and according to the French company, the styling was inspired by the brand’s latest performance products “most notably the new 208 GTi while also saluting the new RCZ R and exclusive Onyx Concept Car3″.

The Surfboard Concept is made from a mix of traditional wood and carbon fiber, sporting quad fins along the edge of the scalped tail.

Peugeot pointed out that visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 11 to 14) will be able to check out the GTi Surfboard Concept next to the Flowrider Surf Machine on the brand’s stand – for those of you wondering what that “machine” is, we’ve added a video below the jump.
