There are a few titles we have our eyes on at this year’s edition of the E3 games conference held in Los Angeles, California, and aside from our predictable interest for Gran Turismo 6, an announcement from publisher Ubisoft has made us even more excited.

They showed off an announcement trailer for an upcoming open-world car action game, called ‘The Crew’. Based a bit on the storyline of the more recent Fast&Furious movies, the game will put the player in the shoes of an outlaw, at the wheel what promises to be a wide selection of vehicles.

The trailer also suggests that players will be able to more deeply customize their ride – they do this by showing various styles of modified Chevy Camaro and Nissan 370Z, for both on- and off-road use.

The game is being developed by the same studio that brought you Driver: San Francisco, a good game in its own right. We expect the crew to expand on the concept of the Driver game, adding in car customization options as well as a much more significant online component – the trailer ends with the phrase “Never Drive Alone,” hinting at the importance given to online play.
