Unfortunately for Volvo enthusiasts, the C30 Polestar Concept never made it to production, although a less hardcore version was produced in a limited edition of 250 units in the U.S.

Nevertheless, the 405hp version remained a one-off. Powered by an upgraded version of Volvo’s 2.5-liter T5 turbo engine featuring a larger intercooler and a KKK 26 turbocharger, the C30 Polestar Concept was all-wheel-drive and had Quaife limited slip differentials on both ends The engine’s generous 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque helped it sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds.

With the exterior design and aerodynamics based on Polestar’s extensive racecar testing in Volvo Cars’ wind tunnel, the C30 Polestar Concept looked the part too. But why are we talking about this car now, the year the Volvo C30 has been discontinued?

Well, it’s because Polestar Racing has released a 2010 video of the C30 Polestar Concept being driven by Robert Dahlgren on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Nostalgia? Probably, but watching the 405HP C30 being driven at the limit on the Green Hell is great, even though the video was shot in foggy, rainy conditions.
