With Cadillac poised to create a coupe variant out of the new ATS to go after BMW’s newly launched 4-Series within the next couple of years, a convertible edition of the same car is surely in the back of the minds of GM’s people – to be clear, when we say open top, we mean with two doors.

The renders pictured above and below showing the four-door ATS without its metal top are the work of none other than, Newport Convertible Engineering (NCE), which is once again testing the waters to see if there’s any interest in such a conversion, despite the fact that the Cadillac model has only been less than a year on the market.

This isn’t NCE’s first open top Cadillac, with the company having already converted a number of cars including the Escalade, CTS, STS and DTS (see gallery below).
