There are many reasons why Mazda and its dealers are hyped about the new, third generation of the brand’s “3” hatchback (called Axela in Japan), which will soon be joined by a sedan variant.

Just to mention a few, it looks a whole lot better, thanks to the edgier and more well received (especially on the Mazda6) Kodo design language, while also benefiting from Mazda’s suite of SkyActive technology comprising lightweight engines, transmissions, body and chassis.

It also comes with a fresh assortment of modern gadgets –an area in which the outgoing model lagged compared to its rivals- the most important of which are the new and up to date, infotainment, connectivity and safety systems.

We’ll get to learn more about the new Mazda3 hatch and the sedan model over the coming weeks, but in the meantime, you can take a closer look at the car in these videos that were shot during the media presentation of the compact car around the world.
