It’s not that we haven’t seen 2015 Ford Mustang prototypes before –actually, we shared a video of one we believe may be fitted with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four engine just earlier today, but we can’t remember seeing so many in one place together.

These scoops pictures come to us from Mike at the Mustang6G forums who says the test cars were “just hanging out in a hotel parking lot”. Ford has used so many layers of camouflage that it’s virtually impossible to tell what the car looks like sans for some details like parts of the headlamps, wheels, exterior mirrors and bits of the interior.

We will remind you, though, that in cooperation with one of our sources who had seen one of the early stage prototypes, Carscoops own Josh Byrnes created these renderings of the sixth generation Mustang last year.

Ford’s most iconic model (well, along with the F-150), will not only look fresh, but will also be modern under the skin, and by that we mean it will finally obtain an independent rear suspension across the range, as well as a turbocharged four-cylinder engine option together with the usual V6 and V8 powerplants.

The official presentation of the new Mustang will take place next April on the occasion of the nameplate’s 50th anniversary.

Thanks to Mike for the heads up!
