Honda is reveling in the hype it has created around its upcoming NSX supercar, which is to be US-built, but that doesn’t mean they have stopped trying to build it up.

After showing us the prototype you all now know, they have now released the first photos of the NSX Concept-GT, which is “a dedicated racing vehicle” that “complies with the 2014 regulations on GT500 vehicles set by the Japan Automobile Federation.”

Power comes from a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine, which gets extra boost courtesy of a hybrid system. The total power figure has not yet been revealed, but it’s probably around 500 hp, if we are to look at some of the cars it is going up against in the series.

If you want to see it in action, it has been entered into the fifth round of the Super GT series, which takes place around the famed Suzuka track this weekend. Hopefully, we’ll get some nice footage of it in a couple of days.
