The Peugeot 3008 is a very practical compact MPV which can (almost) seat five people in comfort. It’s the smaller alternative to the 5008, yet if you don’t need the extra two seats offered by the larger model, the 3008 may be worth a look.

Sadly for it, while it boasted some of the best elbow room and practicality credentials in the class, it was always let down by its awkward shape. Now, courtesy of a second (and more major) facelift, the 3008 has become more bearable to look at, and so far, it’s one of the better interpretations of the current Peugeot family face – better than that of the post-facelift 5008.

The interior suffers minimal changes, as does the engine range, which perfectly mirrors that of the larger seven-seater model. The one exception is the unique Hybrid4 model that uses a two-liter diesel engine in conjunction with an electric motor – it has excellent claimed figures, but it’s a bit too complicated and fragile, so you’re better off getting just the diesel engine, but without the electric help in either 154 or 161 hp flavors.

Now, until we get a proper batch of live shots from Frankfurt, the selection you see in the gallery below is all we have to go by.
