With the launch of the all-new Q50 sedan, it looked like the days of the G Line sedan were numbered. However, it isn’t so, as Infiniti has announced that the G37 sedan will remain on sale in the U.S. until mid-2015. Starting today, the G37 will have a revised line-up and lower prices to “reflect the product hierarchy with the higher content 2014 Infiniti Q50,” according to the automaker.

What this means is the G37 will be positioned at a lower end of the luxury segment, complementing the Q50 in Infiniti’s line-up. “The two vehicles aim at different market segments and allow us to serve different customer needs,” explains Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore.

The G37 Sedan will be sold in two versions, the G37 Sedan Journey and the G37 Sedan AWD – which means the base G37 model is ditched. It also means the G37 Sedan gets to keep its name, although the G37 Coupe and Convertible have been baptized Q60 according to Infiniti’s new naming strategy.

Both G37 Sedan models will be available with only two options, the Premium and Navigation Packages. The rear-wheel drive Journey model has a MSRP of $32,550 (€24,550), while the AWD model is priced at $34,150 (€25,760). Prices don’t include a destination and handling fee of $905 (€683). Both models are powered by a 328hp 3.7-liter V6 gasoline engine.

As for the all-new Q50 sedan, sales begin this week at Infiniti dealerships across the United States. Prices start from $36,700 (€27,685) for the Q50 3.7-liter model and from $43,950 (€33,150) for the Q50 Hybrid Premium model.
