A dozen performance cars from 2013, worth almost $1.9 million and packing more than 6,100 horsepower, were put side by a side in a giant drag race organized by MotorTrend magazine. The eclectic mix of vehicles certainly makes this drag race very exciting, as it includes cars with four, six, eight, ten and twelve cylinders, as well as front-, rear- and all-wheel drive.

Ranging from the 252-hp Ford Focus ST to the 640-hp SRT Viper, the lineup includes the most important 2013 models on sale in the U.S. in MotorTrend’s view, with one notable exception: the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which couldn’t be available in time for the test.

We won’t spoil it for you, so you can start placing your bets and find out if you were right by watching the epic video that follows after the break. We’ll only disclose one thing: the most powerful car wasn’t the fastest to the finish line.
