The phrase, “My, oh my, what big doors you have” was the first thing that came to mind upon taking a look at these official photos of the all-new Opel (Vauxhall) Monza Concept that were spilled on the internet ahead of the car’s world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

We can’t say that the new Monza qualifies as a coupe as its body looks more akin to a sleek, sports station wagon, while the gullwing-style doors are truly enormous, essentially taking up the same surface are as two doors on either side.

We’re still waiting for the full details from Opel, but the German automaker previously said that the Monza study expresses the brand’s “future in pure form”, or in other words, it previews new design elements for its production cars.

More information is expected to be released later today or tomorrow morning. In the meantime, head past the break to take a closer look at the initial batch of pictures of the concept.
