How can one possibly miss a truck on the road and smash into it? While there are many answers to that question, the most usual culprits are drivers falling asleep or being momentarily distracted – and it is under these conditions that modern safety aids like Active Brake Assist and Lane Departure Warning systems try to help prevent collisions (they don’t always succeed, though…).

There’s no information on the following, unrelated accidents in which passenger cars smashed into trucks, but at least one of them may have been avoided with some clever tech.
