When the CEO of Fiat Sergio Marchionne skips an important automotive event like the Frankfurt Motor Show to attend to other businesses (reportedly, Chrysler-related) , it’s a clear sign that there’s nothing really new floating around the group brands’ booths.

At the Alfa Romeo stand, for example, the only car of interest is the 4C that is making another appearance in its final production trim before sales start on both sides of the Atlantic. We recently learned that the North American 4C will be 220 pounds (100kg) heavier than its European counterpart due to different crash test requirements.

The only models from Alfa that made a world premiere at the show are the 2014MY Mito and Giulietta with some very minor styling modifications, equipment upgrades, plus a new 150-horsepower turbo diesel for the latter.
