British sports car makers Caterham are not renowned for a particularly diversified range of models. In fact, all they’re really known for around the world is the Lotus-derived Seven. However, that’s set to change now that the company seems to have acquired a lot more money and support, as well as a very important partnership with Renault.

Not only are they developing the new Alpine sports car for the French brand, but they’re also working on their own version of that car. It’s not the only new model they’re eyeing, as they have just used an unusual way to promote/tease it – they’ve put a very stylized representation of it on the side of their two F1 cars, which are set to race at the Monza track, in Italy, this weekend.

The silhouette is not very revealing, as you’d expect from a teaser, but it doesn’t look at all like a Seven, so that’s a good thing. Moreover, they say it’s an ultra-high performance model with input from the F1 team, so it may be placed above the Sevens in the range, including the hottest R620 model.

Expect to see it unveiled during the Singapore Grannd Prix weekend, set for September 20 to 22. Meanwhile, the Renault-Alpine car “continues to move apace ahead of its launch in early 2016.”
