Will those of you who disagree with us when we say that the regular Citroën C-Elysée is a big French “meh” please raise your hands? We thought so… And that’s precisely the reason why Citroën chose its lackluster compact saloon to represent the marque in the World Touring Car Championship in 2014, even though, whatever makes the C-Elysée WTCC a cool car is absent from the production model.

The muscled up C-Elysée WTCC has been designed in accordance with the new regulations of the championship and is powered by the same 1.6-liter direct injection turbocharged engine as the DS3 WRC. Power output of the inline four is close to 380bhp that are transferred to the front-wheels via a 6-speed sequential gearbox.

Citroën Racing’s new contender for the WTCC 2014 season will be driven by Sébastien Loeb and Yvan Muller.
