Drift competitions are really great, and arguably one of the most spectacular forms of motorsport one could think of. People come not only to see the smoky spectacle, but also to check out the diversity of cars present, and the extent of the modifications done to them. For me, such events are always made better when you see some vehicle you would not have expected to encounter, and see it steal the show.

I’ve seen stuff similar to this at actual drift event’s I’ve attended as a spectator, but things never got as crazy as they do when Teemu Peltola from Finland shows up in his Mercedes-Benz W123 estate, powered by a three-liter diesel engine, albeit one taken from a slightly newer generation Merc’.

The list of mods he’s done is very extensive, and you can find it in the description of the video, but the main points are the addition of a massive turbocharger said to have been taken from a truck, custom intake and exhaust, custom intercooler and oil cooler, as well as a healthy shot of nitrous.

In order not to explode under the claimed 600 hp / 1,000 Nm maximum output with the nitrous, the old gearbox has been swapped out for an E55 AMG unit, while most of the suspension is also taken from other cars. All is custom-adjusted to fit together, and the result is truly spectacular – it even sounds good at full stick too.

Check out the selection of videos we’ve put together below. They’re not new, but we’re you will be entertained!
