Sony and Samsung have already launched their two pieces of “wearable tech” in the form of their two new smart-watches. Now, they’re getting a third competitor from a very unlikely company, Nissan, that has just released its own interpretation of the idea, mixed with a little bit of Nismo spirit.

Called the Nismo Concept Watch, it promises to not only tell the time, but also connect the driver to his/her Nissan, through his/her smartphone via Bluetooth.

Moreover, it is said to also measure biometric data (track your pulse) and correlate it with information it gets back from the car, in order to work out patterns, and give you tips on how to improve performance of economy, depending on necessity. Oh, and yes, you can share each and every one of those details on social media…

Nissan chose to announce this watch just before the press opening for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and the device will probably be available for touching at the Japanese automaker’s stand.

They got on a very early train, as smart-watches are still in their infancy (but growing fast), and not really popular yet, so if they stay on, they will be one of the market leaders. Plus, since they sell cars too, and are striving towards making and selling more green/electric ones, perhaps a connection could be made there, though it would more for marketing’s sake, more than anything else.
