Based on the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Wraith coupe is the company’s fastest and most powerful production model ever built. The car, whose world premiere was hosted earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, will arrive in dealerships in the final quarter of this year.

To prepare for the commercial launch, the BMW-owned luxury car manufacturer has released a fresh set of photos and videos of the Wraith, set in an urban environment as well as in the countryside.

The fastback coupe is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine delivering 624hp (633PS) and a peak torque of 800Nm (590 lb-ft). The engine is linked to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. These figures allow the Wraith to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the Ghost sedan, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

If you expected better performance given that the engine has 624 hp, you have to take into account that the Wraith weighs 2,360 kg (5,203 pounds). That’s in part because the coupe is pretty big by any standards at 5,269 mm (207.4 in) long, 1,947 mm (76.6 in) wide and 1,507 mm (59.3 in) tall. It is however, 130mm (5.1 in) shorter than the Ghost.

It features the same dashboard as the Ghost, plus the Starlight Headliner with 1,340 fibre optic lamps that imitate the starry night sky. As with any Rolls-Royce, the interior is covered in fine leather and wood trimes

The Wraith is also fitted with the Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) system that relies on GPS data and driving style to select the most appropriate gear for the terrain ahead. Exact prices have yet to be announced, but Rolls-Royce said in March that the Wraith will start from around €245,000 (US$320,000) in Europe.
