Volkswagen has put a price on the crossover-flavored Cross Up! minicar, with the most accessible model starting at €13,950 ($18,835) in Germany. The fourth member of Volkswagen’s lifestyle family cars after the CrossPolo, CrossGolf and CrossTouran, the Cross Up!, features a more rugged appearance than the base Up! five-door hatchback, thanks to exclusive exterior appointments.

These include bumpers with silver-coloured inserts, black add-ons to the wheel arches and sills, door mirrors painted in “light silver metallic” and anodized silver roof rails. The 3.56-meter (140.1in) Cross Up! also features a 15mm (0.59in) higher ride height and exclusive 16-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Cross Up! gets unique seat trim available in red or dark grey with a matching dashboard finish, leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake, plus chrome trims for the vents and speedometer as well as the door sills.

VW’s small crossover-wannabe is available in five body colors (white, red, dark blue metallic, light silver metallic and black pearl). Power comes from the 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Developing 74hp (75PS) at 6,200 rpm, the unit is also used by the regular Up!.

Optional equipment and trim packs for the Cross Up! include the “Drive Pack Plus” with City Emergency Braking, “Cool & Sound” with air conditioner and audio system and “Maps + More” with a color 5-inch TFT touchscreen.
