Turn 10 Studios, the developers behind Forza Motorsport 5, the Xbox One exclusive racing title, are right in stating that without cars, they would not have a game, and it’s a fitting start for their official post announcing the seventeen additions to the vehicle roster. They try to place emphasis on the fact that the selection of cars, as well as their diversity, is very important, hinting at the fact that they have so far chosen well…
We’ll let you be the judge of that, though, as we list these new names, and also show you what was already in the game. Of the total seventeen fresh new arrivals, only only four are given special attention, and just half of those get photos: the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR and the 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II.
These two models were chosen to spearhead the new list as they are both very special in their own right, particularly the GT-R which is said to reflect in-game all of the all of the key elements that made it perform better than lesser GT-Rs of the day: lighter weight, more power and a more advanced version of the all-wheel drive system that enjoyed the benefits of a laterally-shifting limited-slip differential.
The Evo GSR follows a similar philosophy as the Nissan, with similar benefits to performance. However, it can never hope to match the icon status that has been achieved by the R34 model Skyline, and many of the other new cars announced for the game.
