A little over a year after the regular XV Crosstrek landed in the States selling some 45,000 units in the process, Subaru announced pricing for the new Hybrid version of the tall-riding hatch, which also happens to be the Japanese automaker’s first-ever production hybrid vehicle.
There are two trim levels to choose from, the base Hybrid priced from $25,995 or (*) $26,820 with destination and delivery, and the better equipped Hybrid Touring that starts at $29,295 or $30,120 when you include the aforementioned fees.
Among other standard features on the base model are a high-grade color multi-function display with a 4.3-inch screen, automatic climate control system, upgraded instrument cluster and chrome exterior door handles, while the Touring adds a touch-screen navigation system, leather-trimmed seating and a power moonroof.
Regardless of trim grade, the XV Crosstrek Hybrid pairs a 148hp 2.0-liter boxer engine to a CVT transmission fitted with a 13.4 hp (~10 kW) electric motor. Subaru claims a combined fuel economy figure of 31 mpg, or 7.6 l/100km, and as much as 34 mpg (6.9 l/100km) on the highway.
