Despite disappointing some users for not being released on the PlayStation 4 and not taking full advantage of its technical capabilities, Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) just got a whole lot more interesting.

We have just learnt that it will support GPS data logging towards the goal of recreating whatever track or stretch of road you like in-game!

Yes, that’s right – if you will have access to a car capable of recording the necessary data, all you will have to do is then let the new track/road editor do all the compiling work, creating a virtual representation of your chosen road.

It’s impressive because it actually already works as intended, not just in theory, and it is reportedly being added to GT6 via an update that is set to be released not long after the game itself.

What this means is there’s the potential for virtually infinite re-playability, which coupled with the high number of available vehicles, makes the game more tempting than before.

It’s not yet clear how this new feature will be integrated into the game exactly, but as previously stated, the video posted below, courtesy of GT Planet, shows that it works and does so quite seamlessly. Apparently, there are still some bugs in the system to work out, but even as it stands, we are deeply impressed!
