It might remain a truck at heart, but Cadillac continues to treat its Escalade series as a to top-segment luxury SUV one at that, as evidenced by the reported starting price of $72,690 with destination (*) for the all-new 2015 model, up $3,725 over the base 2014 model that begins at $68,965.

We mention the word “reported”, as we didn’t find an official press statement on pricing, with GMAuthority stating that it found it on Cadillac’s public website, and Automobile magazine simply listing it.

The 2015 Escalade has the second highest starting price in Cadillac’s range, surpassed only by the ELR that kicks off at a mighty $75,995.

Cadillac’s big SUV will go on sale this spring available in two body lengths, a regular wheelbase and an extended wheelbase model called ESV, a choice of 2WD or 4WD and a single engine option, a new 6.2-liter V8 direct-injection engine producing 420hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
