With the explicit goal of turning a wrecked F40 into the more modern car Ferrari couldn’t (or just simply didn’t) build at the time, the people over at Gas Monkey Garage did a stunning job. The car was featured on the Fast’n Loud show and it recently sold at a Barret-Jackson auction…for $742,500 or €548,500!

The all-black F40 featured extensive upgrades to all of its components, improvements that came along with the repairs they did to it, as it was in a badly damaged state when they first got hold of it.

As it stands now, with the one of a kind HRE wheels that match the finish of the bodywork, the new brakes and 100 hp boost, it should have no trouble keeping up with any of the modern day supercars, all of which it undercuts on weight and almost matches in terms of power too.

It’s clearly a vehicle that has been thoroughly rebuilt, showing one of the ways in which you can already make a very special car even more so. The idea here, I think, is to  not go overboard with the mods and always keep in mind just how fast it is, even with the meager 471 hp its V8 came with from the factory.
