Nissan has announced that the new GT-R Nismo will have its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show late last year, the race-inspired version is the fastest GT-R ever, having lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 8.679 seconds.

Following “extensive development” work carried out in Europe, mostly at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the Nissan GT-R Nismo will arrive on the continent with a 592hp (600PS) 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, a modified bodykit for improved aerodynamics and upgraded suspension, among other tweaks.

The engine produces 652 Nm (481 lb-ft) of torque and is said to catapult the GT-R Nismo from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.4 seconds, although no official performance data has been released yet.

Compared to the recently refreshed standard GT-R, the engine of the Nismo version features upgrades including new high-flow, large diameter turbochargers from GT3 racing that improve the engine’s breathing, as well as optimized individual ignition timing control for each cylinder and upgraded fuel pump that improve combustion.

The car’s suspension setup is inspired by that of the Nismo racing GT-R, with Nissan saying it combines agility, road-holding and handling without compromising refinement.

Design-wise, the GT-R Nismo features new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a massive rear spoiler that together increase downforce by more than 100kg (220 lbs) at 300 km/h (186 mph) compared to the standard GT-R. Already available in Japan, the GT-R Nismo will go on sale in Europe in September.
