A press invitation from Ferrari for a world premiere of a car dubbed “149M Project” at next month’s 2014 Geneva Motor Show has surfaced on the web pointing towards the California’s replacement.

The two main reasons why we’re thinking it’s the next California is because there have been many reports about its introduction this spring, and due to the fact that, the current model’s internal product name is F149, with the “M” designation in the official name (149M), likely referring to “modificato”, as was the case with several other Ferrari models in the past like the 575M.

What we have heard about the new hardtop-convertible and least expensive model in Ferrari’s high-end line, is that, it will likely adopt a modified version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 found in the Maserati Quattroporte, while featuring a heavily revised exterior and interior.
