In this second round of photo sharing on its upcoming Astra OPC Extreme, Opel (or Vauxhall, if you prefer) has provided us with a fresh set of black and white images highlighting some of the details on the fast hatchback, and in particular, the use of carbon fiber on the aero parts and the lightweight wheels.

Dubbed the fastest production Astra ever, the OPC Extreme is a limited production run model that will officially break cover at next week’s 2014 Geneva Motors Show – if not earlier…

The inspiration for the OPC Extreme comes from last year’s Astra Cup racecar, with the German brand’s engineers applying all the racetrack lessons they learned in aerodynamics, chassis improvements and weight saving measures on the Astra OPC.

At this point, Opel is mum about the engine on the front-wheel drive hot hatch, which in regular OPC trim, has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four twisting out 276hp (280PS).
