Being a Swedish brand (at heart) and all, Volvo prototypes do look to be at home when testing on miles and miles of never ending snow, which is where our scoop photographers located the next XC90 again, following their initial encounter earlier in the month.

Volvo won’t do us a favor and drop at least some of the protective layers of plastic camouflage, so we can have a better idea of what to expect on the styling front when the mid-size luxury SUV hits showrooms early next year.

In addition to these shots, we also have a Photoshop from Carscoops reader Peter Kiers, who digitally manipulated Volvo’s XC Coupe Concept from the Detroit auto show in January, to turn it into a five-door model representing the XC90.

The effort is greatly appreciated, but we should mention that, the XC Coupe’s purpose wasn’t to directly preview the XC90, but to show how the Swedish brand’s new design language applies on crossover and SUV models in general, and not specifically the XC90.
