As long as long as you live in a country where crime rate is low, and trust among the people is commonplace, then Volvo’s new “Roam Delivery” system could save you a lot of hassle. It involves granting delivery services access to your car boot via an electronic key that greatly limits the way in which they can interact.

The tech has been made possible thanks to digital keys that “now make it possible to transform the car into a delivery pickup and drop-off zone.” It was recently trialed on a number of 100 people, 86 of which agreed that it was a time and money saving idea that could even be called environmentally friendly, if you push it a bit.
