BMW is promoting the latest M5 with the newly available Competition Package that brings a little bit more power at 567hp (575 PS) and chassis improvements, in a more manly and tougher way through a fresh promotional clip titled “BMW M5. FINALLY UNCHAINED“.

We’re guessing it’s BMW’s response to some of the complains made by fans of the brand and more specifically, of the M5 series.

Not that it lacks oomph with 552-horses (560PS – in standard trim) running under its hood, but some drivers find BMW’s latest V8 turbocharged M5 sedan less special and pure than its predecessor.

Then again, we heard similar complaints when BMW switched from an inline-six to a V8 with the third-generation model as well as when it turned to a V10 with the E60…so go figure.
