This is a duel not many would have thought possible a few years ago. Can a Camaro take on the mighty Godzilla? To find out, the ‘Head2Head’ team pitted the brand new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 against the 2014 Nissan GT-R Track Edition.

The two coupes are vastly different in character. While the rear-wheel drive Camaro Z/28 is powered by a naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V8 producing 505 horsepower, the all-wheel drive GT-R Track Edition is motivated by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine developing 545 hp.

There are more differences: the $76k Z/28 features a six-speed manual transmission, with the $116k GT-R’s engine being linked to a six-speed dual clutch transmission.

In the video, both cars are driven on country roads by Jonny Lieberman and are then taken over by racing driver Randy Pobst for a track duel on Barber Motorsports Park.

You’ll have to watch the video to find out which car is faster on track, but I will say the difference between them is ridiculously small.
