If Honda’s new Civic Type R Concept doesn’t bring the boy racer out of you, I don’t what will…

In preparation for next year’s production launch of the new generation Civic Type R in Europe, and possibly select markets around the world, but most likely not in North America, Honda brought a thinly concealed concept version of the car to the Geneva Motor Show.

The dramatic design pretty much speaks for itself, and the only thing we have to add is that, according to Honda, most of what you see serve an aerodynamic purpose with “real” performance benefits.

As for those quad exhaust pipes you’re looking at the rear end, they’re linked to a new 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four VTEC engine that will offer more than 280-horses to Honda’s super-hot hatch.

Honda isn’t ready to share any specific performance figures, but it does insist that the Civic Type R is being developed to be the fastest production FWD model on the ‘Ring, which means it has to better the Seat Leon Cupra’s time of 7:58.44.
