Let’s be frank now; the 500L isn’t one of Fiat’s best styling efforts, looking more like a pregnant guppy fish than a cute five-door interpretation of the classic 500. The Trekking edition that gives the 500L a taller riding, soft-roader appearance, does help with the cosmetic aspect.

For the Geneva Motor Show, Fiat prepared an even better looking, conceptual version of the 500L Trekking with a surfer theme, designed with the help of Chrysler’s Mopar tuning arm and Wheelrun, a manufacturer of ‘longboards’.

The 500L Trekking Street Surf has a Sorrento Yellow paint job with two-tone white roof and stickers running on the bonnet and tailgate. It also gets a black matte plastic coating around the wheel arches and side panels, together with different wheels and Bamboo accents, also used in the interior trimmings.

The final addition is a pair of bamboo longboards, including a cruising board about 1.4m in length and a slalom board measuring 0.95 m in length.
