We knew Smart was going to display the ForTwo Citybeam special edition at the Geneva Motor Show, but what we didn’t know is that the Daimler-owned automaker had another ForTwo special in store, the Brabus Xclusive Red Edition.

As the name suggests, this Smart is built in collaboration with Brabus and it’s red – all of it: the body panels and tridion safety cell are all painted Jupiter Red.

On top of the red color and Brabus badges, customers get the most powerful engine of the range, the 101hp (102PS) 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged unit with sporty transmission tuning, Brabus sports suspension and sports exhaust system, titanium-colored headlights and Brabus Monoblock VII alloy wheels in 16 or 17 inches. The wheels are available in silver, gleaming black and matt grey, all contrasting with the Jupiter Red body color.

On the inside, the Brabus Xclusive Red features leather seats with red topstitching and the Brabus logo embossed in the headrests, black leather-look finish with red topstitching for the instrument panel, knee pad, interior door trim and door pocket, as well as a Brabus 3-spoke leather steering wheel with shift paddles and automated “softouch” gearshift function. Other amenities are the gear knob with a red Brabus logo and a number of interiors components painted Jupiter Red.

Standard equipment for the Smart Brabus Xclusive Red Edition includes heated seats, side airbags, electric windows, automatic climate control and a transparent panoramic roof with sun blind.

Available as a Coupé and Cabriolet, the special edition ForTwo is priced from €22,890 ($31,552) in Germany, including VAT. Order books opened on March 4, with deliveries scheduled to start in late summer 2014.
