If, as they say, imitation is a sincere form of flattery, then the folks over at Land Rover must be blushing from the adoration of China’s Landwind, or rather, Land Wind, judging by their newly designed company insignia adorning the edge of the hood of the upcoming X7 Breeze SUV.

Even if you’re skeptical about the black and white photos, as they may or may not be patent images, the shots of the actual Landwind X7 Breeze prototype leave no doubt that the Chinese carmaker’s designers ran the Range Rover Evoque through the photocopier.

The Land Wind SUV is said to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual, and is expected to be introduced in late summer.

In an ironic twist, Land Rover plans to begin production in China, with the rumor mill talking about the Evoque being the first model to roll off the assembly line.
