China’s very own uber-luxurious Rolls-Royce- or Bentley-like sedan, the Honqi L5 (formerly the L7 and meaning “red flag,” in Chinese) has just found its first buyer. The customer is Wang Zhonghua, the owner of a chain of furniture stores, originally from Nanjing. He paid around $803,000 or about €580,000 and is set to take delivery in three months’ time.

The rights to the Honqi name are owned by FAW, a local automaker that was chosen by Audi to be its Chinese market partner.

We don’t know a great deal about the L5 sedan, other than the fact it’s “tailor-made” to the buyer’s specification.

It reportedly draws its power from a six-liter aluminum block V12 that’s coupled to a six-speed automatic gearbox; power is sent to all four wheels and the top speed is limited to 125 mph or 200 km/h.
