Christian von Koenigsegg, the man behind the hypercar building company that bears his name, takes the time to explain what changes they are operating to the engine that will power the insane One:1, compared to the one they use in the Agera R on which it’s based.

The latest installment of Drive’s Inside Koenigsegg series focuses on this, as well as the company founder’s views on hybrid and EV tech.

He’s an adept of the simplicity principle, stating that any kind of petrol-electric hybrid is compromised through being overly complicated and heavy. He does admit that with much fine tuning and work it can be a successful formula, yet he is convinced a simple, conventional car that’s well thought out and well engineered is still a better choice.

The One:1 will most likely prove him right, when it will go up against the latest hybrid hypercars and most likely leave them for dead. Check out the video after the virtual jump.
