BMW hasn’t mentioned anything officially, but the word on the internet is that, the new M4 Convertible is heading to the New York Auto Show on April 16 for its world premiere, something that our spies agree on, adding that we could see the car revealed online “in days” if not “in hours”.

We’ll conduct our usual investigation and bring you up to date if/when we came up with anything new. In the meantime, we have a fresh batch of scoop pictures of the hardtop convertible model with the M badge enjoying the warmer spring weather in Germany under minimal camouflage.

On top of the car, you’ll find the same three-piece folding roof as on the regular 4 Series Convertible that allows the driver to neatly fold it into the boot in 20 seconds at a touch of a button and at speeds of up to 11mph (18km/h).

At the heart of BMW’s new M4 Convertibles is a twin-turbocharged and direct-injection, 3.0-liter inline-six engine, good for 425hp (431PS) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It’s the same unit used on the latest M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe.
