I don’t know how many of you agree, but I find Jaguar’s XJ40 series (built from 1986 to 1994) as one of the brand’s better styling moments in the segment. Of course, that has nothing to do with what the previous owner of this 1990 Jaguar XJ did to his/her car.

Back in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s, you could have the XJ with an inline-six in a number of different displacements or a V12, however, the one you see here had its original mill swapped for a…Ford-sourced 1.8-liter turbo diesel rated at an uninspiring 89hp (90PS).

Together with the four-cylinder oil burner you also get what looks like an aluminum foil wrap for the manual gear-shifter – possibly to keep the Martians from controlling your hand.

The car is listed for sale in Poland at OtoMoto, and the asking price is PLN 14,500, which comes to about €3,480 or US$4,770.
