In the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, which has turned into something of a battlefield between government troops and pro-Russia separatists, military vehicles like the Soviet tracked infantry-fighter BMP-1 have become a common sight on the roads, with all the trouble that brings – including civilians hijacking and trying to operate them with disastrous results.

In a recently circulated video, locals seized a BMP-1 that was left behind by Ukrainian troops hunting down armed groups, and eventually, one of them jumped behind the wheel – or so to speak.

We don’t hear or see what was going on inside the vehicle, but we’ll agree with YouTube commentator Romagnolo who quoted the civilian saying to himself, “Hey, what does that button do?”

The answer to that question is it fires a mighty punch through its canon. One person was reportedly injured and taken to the hospital.
