Hennessey recently posted a trailer for an upcoming NatGeo documentary on their YouTube channel. The excerpts shown in it highlight the fact that the Venom hypercar will be featured in it, as will its most recent speed record attempt.
The documentary premieres May 7 and is called “Breaking Barriers.” Its host will be none other than Tim McGraw, known around the world for his acting and musical careers, who will be looking at the hot rodding scene’s history, from its beginnings up to the present day’s Venom – we’re assuming they’re going to call it the pinnacle of hot rodding and feature it last…
However, as you probably gathered from the choosing of a celebrity host, this is not an independent documentary that wants to look at the history of hot rods. It’s actually heavily endorsed by Pennzoil, as the company wants to promote its new line of Platinum motor oils, and according to AdWeek, the documentary is “centerpiece of the product push.”
