With cars like the 1970s Jarama under its belt, it’s hard to understand why Lamborghini isn’t tearing out the history pages and taping them to their forheads, then building a modern interpretation on Audi underpinnings and making it a sporty hybrid too – you’d buy one, whouldn’t you?

Such a car would probably not be that much more expensive than this tired-looking red 1971 Jarama 400GT that rides on grungy Miura wheels that once used to be gold… The seller over at Fantasy Junction wants $74,500 for it.

The car itself is for all intents and purposes complete, according to the ad, yet it’s clearly not the cleanest one out there; it’s slightly rusty too, but still far from being called a bucket…

It’s also full of dents and scratches, so you could just repaint the whole thing if you so fancied – I’d leave it as is, though I would give the wheels a good cleaning (not necessarily a full refurbishment, as they would then clash with the imperfect bodywork).

Under the bonnet, you’ll find the traditional four-liter V12 that is not said to not be running, but you know how these old Italian units from the ‘70s are…

Go see it now, if you live close to Emeryville, California, where it’s available for viewing.
