Not that the 2015 GMC Sierra’s lineup is lacking in variety, but since we are talking about one of GM’s best sellers, it never hurts to chase every single niche possible through different editions, which brings us to the new All Terrain HD that goes on sale this summer.

GMC says it blends better off-road capabilities with exclusive design features. Available on 2500HD and 3500HD double cab and crew cab Sierra models with SLE or SLT trims, the All Terrain HD comes as standard with a 4WD system that includes an electronically controlled transfer case, and the Z71 Off Road package, with Rancho twin-tube shocks, hill descent control and a skid plate.

The 6.0L V8 gas engine is standard while the 6.6-liter V8 Duramax turbo-diesel is offered as an option.

On the outside, bespoke features include a chrome surround on the grille, exterior graphics, aluminum underbody shields and unique 18-inch six-spoke chrome cast-aluminum wheels. The 2500HD is available with 20-inch rims, while 3500HD models get adjustable outside camper mirrors with a chrome cap.

As for the interior, All Terrain HD models get (fake) carbon fiber trim, dedicated logos, a standard rearview camera system and GM’s latest OnStar with 4G LTE and standard built-in Wi-Fi hotspot.

Pricing should be announced in the coming weeks.
