The all-new Chrysler 200 looks even more modern than it actually is alongside its awkwardly-proportioned predecessor. There are familiar cues that have been retained, in order to preserve brand identity, but overall, the impression it leaves is very different (in a good way).

Chrysler is pleased with how it turned out too. Bloomberg says company officials are confident now that it will sustain the steady increase in sales that has not died down after 48 consecutive months on the upswing.

However, the growth is attributed primarily to Chrysler’s trucks, SUVs and minivans, and by no means the old 200. It is predicted by HIS Automotive that some 180,000 examples will be sold annually by 2016, or 50 percent more than in 2013.

This will probably be detailed once Chrysler releases its official sales figures which the source publication expects will mark the continuation of growth for a 49th consecutive month; a 15.7 percent rise over last year’s figures is expected but not confirmed.
