Nissan has posted a teaser photo on its press site that appears to show an upgraded version of the 370Z Nismo. The photo is accompanied by this text: “A special global NISMO debut will be made on Friday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET at ZDAYZ at Fontana Village Resort in North Carolina.”

While Nissan’s intention was to maintain an aura of mystery around the new Nismo model, the photo’s filename says it all: “2015-Nissan-370Z-Nismo-teaser.jpg”. Therefore, the safest bet is that the car in the photo is the 2015 370Z Nismo, which appears to get a significant revamp from a styling point of view.

While the shape of the headlights remains the same, the car gets a much larger grille, LED daytime running lights, a red-painted front spoiler and new alloy wheels.

We don’t know whether technical modifications are involved too, but we’ll find out tomorrow. As a quick reminder, the current 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine producing 350hp and 276 lb-ft (374 Nm) of torque, paired to a close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox.
