The star of Opel’s booth at Germany’s RETTmobil 2014 special vehicle exhibition is the Insignia Country Tourer, which has received two special versions: an emergency medical vehicle and a command vehicle for the fire brigade.

At Europe’s leading trade show for rescue and mobility that takes place in Fulda, Germany, from May 14 to 16, Opel will also display the new Vivaro, modified for the first time with a blue light bar for emergency applications.

Furthermore, Opel will show a Movano converted to a disabled transport vehicle and a portable fire pump vehicle for the fire department. All models are built in collaboration with Opel Special Vehicles GmbH and certified conversion partners.

The Opel Insignia Country Tourer medical vehicle sports a luminous bright red livery, the blue lettering “AMBULANCE” on the front doors and the hood, two LED front flashing lights as well as two rear warning lights and reflective rear hazard markers. Interior equipment includes a 230-volt electrical system, ignition override unit, preliminary setup for analog and digital radio as well as accident data storage.

The Opel Insignia Country Tourer also qualified to become a fire brigade command vehicle. The car sports a red-white-yellow livery, “FIRE BRIGADE” lettering on the hood and side doors, prominently displayed emergency number 112 and a priority vehicle signaling system on the roof.
