British supercar owners are a lucky bunch, as they have a wide selection of venues they can attend, where they can keep the throttle pinned to the floor without fear of speed cameras, traffic lights or running over people crossing the street. VMax 200 is the definition of that, as it’s an event designed purely to test entrant cars’ top speeds over a measured distance.

It’s called VMax 200 because that’s how many miles per hour the participants are aiming for, and judging by what we see in the EVO video posted below, it’s all pretty close-running, and it’s always some kind of modified Porsche 911 Turbo that proves the fastest.

Yep, that’s right, if you own a RUF, you can run faster than a McLaren P1 or a Koenigsegg can – a Hennessey Venom would be interesting to watch taking part in this…

The Bruntingthorpe airfield runway provides the straight and even tarmac required; the drivers floor it after they pass a long 90-degree corner just before the main straight and see how fast they can go.
