Ever since the Renault Group took over Dacia at the turn of the previous century, and especially after the launch of the Logan in late 2004, the Romanian brand has been going from success to success and is one-step away from reaching the magical 500,000 unit sales mark, having recorded 429,540 deliveries in 2013.

The Romanians have extended their reach into several sub-segments, all while keeping affordable prices, but one thing that’s missing is a sportier flavored (and powered) variant.

Dacia’s five-door Sandero supermini could make for a nice candidate with the correct upgrades, both in regards to appearance and power. For the former, our French friend Khalil from Virtuel Car has prepared two Photoshops in which he gave the Sandero a more purposeful appearance.

Renault’s RS (RenaultSport) division could take care of the rest, providing the Sandero Sport with an improved chassis and a feisty turbocharged unit – perhaps even a diesel to differentiate it from its own offerings and highlight the brand’s affordability and economy aspects.
