It’s been so long in internet time since we reported on the facelifted A8 and S8, that we had to actually double check to see whether Audi USA’s pricing announcement today referred to last year’s revisions or a newer update…
Presented at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show before it landed in German dealerships last November, the facelifted A8 and S8 will be marketed as 2015MYs in the States, with prices starting from $77,400 for the base A8 3.0 T, rising to $137,900 for the A8 W12 L, not including destination (*).
Some of the highlights for 2015 include the redesigned (and standard) LED headlights, a newly designed grille, bumper and splitter at the front, tweaked tail lamps with a chrome strip at the back, plus fresh colors, trims, improved acoustic measures and better trunk packaging for increased space and usability inside.
Audi USA said minor improvements to the 4.0 TSI V8 bump output to 429hp (435PS). It didn’t mention anything about the rest of the engine range, but in Europe, the 3.0 TFSI produces 20hp more at 306hp (310PS). The S8’s 510hp (520PS) remains unchanged for the new MY.
The new A8 and S8 models will arrive in Audi showrooms later this month.
