As you probably know, Smart will officially unveil the all-new ForTwo and ForFour city cars later today, which is why these photos from audio specialist Harman will not cause much damage.

To showcase their new customized JBL audio system developed specifically for the new Smart cars, Harman released two photos which reveal the vehicles’ design. As expected, the ForTwo and ForFour look like two different versions of the same car, as opposed to the previous ForFour that shared very little design elements with the ForTwo.

The ForFour is now basically a long wheelbase variant of the ForTwo, with both cars featuring a very similar front end with identical grilles and headlights inspired from the Fourjoy concept car. Expect real photos with the two models later in the day, but until then let’s see what Harman has in store for the two city cars.

The audio specialist is providing in-vehicle audio for Smart for the very first time, with the customized JBL sound system bringing “an ultimate listening experience to this urban lifestyle vehicle.” Since space is very important in the Smart, JBL made the subwoofer removable to extend the trunk volume when drivers need to load extra baggage.

Speakers in both models are placed to ensure drivers and passengers are surrounded with sound, with the new ForTwo featuring a six-channel DSP high-performance amplifier and eight speakers, including the removable subwoofer. The Smart ForFour has an eight-channel DSP amplifier, and an additional two pairs of high-frequency and low mid-range speakers, with the surround speakers positioned in the C-pillars.

The new Smart ForTwo and Smart ForFour with the JBL audio system will be released in November 2014.
